Although geographically located in France, Golf Saint Apollinaire is Basel’s largest golf club and can be found just 13km from EuroAirport Basel.

The venue is the sister club of Golf Sempach, the host venue of the Swiss Challenge from 2010 – 2019, and it will host the event for the first time.

It is home to two Championships Courses - the Tree Garden and the Fruit Garden - and the latter measures 7,432 from the back tees, with every hole having its own unmistakable character and associated strategy. The large, decisive water hazards and bunkers guarantee an exciting round of golf in the former fruit garden of the Cistercian monks who built the monastery in the 12th century.

The Tree Garden, meanwhile, was designed by internationally renowned golf course architect Kurt Rossknecht who skilfully incorporated the fairways into the surrounding woods, ensuring stunning views in every direction on the 18-hole, par 72 championship course.

The 2021 Swiss Challenge will be the final full-field event of the year, with only the end of season Chinese Swing and the Challenge Tour Grand Final taking place after the Road to Mallorca visits Golf Saint Apollinaire.

Past Champions include Switzerland’s Joel Girrbach, Portugal’s Ricardo Santos and Germany’s Marcel Schneider, who finished second on the Road to Mallorca Rankings in 2020.
