Genworth Stats Pack - Summary Report

The Castle Stuart links showed its teeth for Round 4 of the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open, producing 17 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 73.13. Phil Mickelson emerged as the winner from a playoff against Branden Grace, with Stenson and Hansen finishing as their closest challengers. We analyse the leading performances plus we round up the final Genworth Statistics leaders.

Phil MICKELSON -17

Phil Mickelson converted seven birdies against two bogeys and a double bogey on his way to a final round 69, and then took the title with a piece of Mickelson magic in a playoff against Brandon Grace. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 43 year old Hall of Famer from the United States was strong all round, driving the ball long and hitting lots of Greens in Regulation, plus he scrambled for par 90% of the time when the greens were missed and ranked high for each of the putting categories. Some would say it was perfect preparation for The Open Championship next week.

Branden GRACE -17

Branden Grace started the final round slowly but caught fire on the back nine to finish with a 69 (and runner-up to Mickelson in the playoff). Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 25 year old South African talent was solid with the longer clubs but it was his touch on and around the greens which really stands out, ranking 1st for Putts per GIR, 1st for Putts per Round and 2nd for 1 Putts per Round. With this result, Branden climbs to 5th on the Race to Dubai.

Henrik STENSON -15

Henrik Stenson converted four birdies against five bogeys (three in the last six holes) on his way to a final round 73. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 37 year old Swedish golfer was magnificent from tee to green, ranking 3rd for Driving Accuracy, 1st for Driving Distance and 6th for Greens in Regulation, plus he hit seven of the Par 5 greens in sub-regulation (two shots). With this result, Henrik climbs to 28th on the Race to Dubai.

JB HANSEN -15

After a quadrouple bogey nine on the second hole, JB Hansen then fired an incredible seven birdies in the next eight holes of the final round, but eventually dropped three shots over the last four for 71 (what an up and down day). Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 22 year old Danish golfer ranked 3rd for Greens in Regulation, 1st for Par 4 Scoring and 1st for Birdies per Round (accumulating 27 birdies, 3 more than any other player). With this result, JB climbs to 80th on the Race to Dubai.
