Genworth Stats Pack - Summary Report

Round 4 of the Nordea Masters produced 49 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 70.78. Mikko Ilonen emerged as the clear winner on -21 with Jonas Blixt and Bernd Wiesberger finishing as his closest challengers. We analyse their performances plus we round up the final Genworth Statistics leaders.

Mikko ILONEN -21

Mikko Ilonen managed to keep his game steady while his closest challengers faltered on the final nine holes, to emerge as the winner by three shots. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, the 33 year old golfer from Finland drove the ball magnificently (ranking 20th for Driving Accuracy and 5th for Driving Distance) which then enabled him to hit 60/72 Greens in Regulation (ranking 3rd), plus he also scrambled and putted extremely well. His consistency was such that he dropped just a single shot over the final 54 holes. Mikko featured in our preview report as both finishing 3rd here last year and as a past Champion of the event (which was coincidentally his last European Tour victory). He has been in great form over recent weeks and it is no surprise to see him crowned champion.

Jonas BLIXT -18

Jonas Blixt played a real mixed bag today with one eagle, six birdies, two bogeys and a double bogey on his way to a final round 68. He was actually in with a great chance of winning with nine holes to play but fell away with too many errors shortly after the turn. Unfortunately we have not been able to display some of his Genworth Statistics in this report, but we can see that the 29 year old Swedish golfer was strong across the different hole types all week (being the Par 3’s / Par 4’s / Par 5’s). It has been great to see the 2012 Frys.com Open champion back on home soil this week. Hopefully he will return to the European Tour soon.

Bernd WIESBERGER -17

Bernd Wiesberger converted seven birdies against just one bogey on his way to a superb final round 66. The 27 year old golfer from Austria has been consistent all year long (not missing a single cut so far) and with this performance he climbs to 39th on the Race to Dubai. Looking at his Genworth Tournament Statistics, there were simply no weaknesses. He drove the ball long and straight, his iron play was accurate and his chipping, bunker play and putting was all very consistent. This week he ranked 1st for Par 4 Scoring and 2nd for Birdies per Round. His third European Tour title may well be just around the corner.
