Genworth Stats Pack - Summary Report

David Lynn fired nine birdies against a one bogey on his way to a final round 63 (the low round of the day), emerging as the tournament winner by one shot. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 39 year old English golfer (who celebrates a milestone 40th birthday next week) actually produced some pretty average numbers off the tee, but with the low Oceânico Victoria course rough he was still able to hit plenty of Greens in Regulation, and his short game and putting was sublime. David Scrambled 14/16 times for Par and accumulated 36 single putts in total, scoring extremely well across the different hole types. The now two time European Tour winner climbs up to 43 on the Race to Dubai.

Justin Walters finished with four birdies in the last five holes for a final round 66, finishing as runner up on his own. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 32 year old South African (who also has an upcoming birthday) ranked lower than you would expect with the longer clubs, but his putting figures were the best of all the players in the field (ranking 1st for Putts per GIR, 2nd for Putts per Round and 1st for 1 Putts per Round). Justin also ranked 1st for Par 4 Scoring and accumulated no less than 28 birdies in total.

Stephen Gallacher birdied seven out of the last ten holes for a final round 66, to edge ever closer to his best ever year on the European Tour. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, much the same as the top two, the 38 year old Scottish golfer was not the most accurate off the tee, but due to the less penal rough he was still able to rank 5th for Greens in Regulation (with 60/72 greens) and 2nd for Par 5’s in 2 (with 4/12 sub-regulation hits). We should also highlight Stephens Par 3 Scoring average of 2.75, confirming some great approach play.

Bernd Wiesberger converted six birdies against two bogeys on his way to a final round 67. Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 28 year old Austrian golfer (who is yet another of the best finishers to celebrate a birthday - on Tuesday just past) encountered a bit of a mixed bag, with comparatively less accurate approach play but a superb touch on and around the greens (including 18/21 up and downs for Par). Interestingly the huge hitting talent dropped the fewest shots (just 3 bogeys alongside Doak and Derksen).

Paul Waring converted three birdies against one bogey and one double bogey on his way to a final round 71 (holing a long putt across the final green). Looking at his Genworth Statistics for the week, the 28 year old English golfer was strong across the board, with 38/56 fairways (together with 296 yards Driving Distance), 57/72 Greens in Regulation, 12/15 Scrambles and 114 putts in total, all leading to good scoring across the different hole types (especially on the Par 5 holes with a 4.33 average).
