Genworth Stats Pack - Round 2 Review

Round 2 of the ISPS HANDA Perth International produced 40 sub-par rounds and a field average score of 73.10. Peter Hedblom leads on -7 with Ross Fisher following on -5. We analyse their performances and round up the half way Genworth Statistics leaders.

Peter HEDBLOM -7

Peter Hedblom converted six birdies against three bogeys on his way to a second round 69, to lead by two at the half way stage. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 43 year old Swedish golfer is performing steadily with the longer clubs, scrambling well and putting the very best of all the players in the field (ranking 1st for each of the three official putting categories). That brilliance over the Lake Karrinyup greens is enabling Peter to score consistently under Par across the different hole types and accumulate more birdies than any other player (12 in total).

Ross FISHER -5

Ross Fisher converted six birdies against a single bogey on his way to a second round 67 (the low round of the day - also shot by Jason Scrivener). The 32 year old English golfer is scoring well across the different hole types (especially the Par 3’s and Par 5’s), but his Genworth Statistics are quite different to Hedblom's, whereby Ross is producing fantastic numbers with the longer clubs (ranking 2nd for Greens in Regulation and 5th for Par 5’s in 2) but ranking lower for the putting categories (we should highlight that putting stats do tend to rank lower for players that are hitting lots of Greens in Regulation).
