Ideal playing conditions for Round 2 of the Avantha Masters led to continued low scoring over the Greg Norman designed Jaypee Greens course, producing a cut mark of 3 under Par. We analyse the performances of the half way leaders Wenchong Liang and Chapchai Nirat, plus round up the leaders of the Genworth Statistics.
Wenchong LIANG -12
Consecutive rounds of 66 secured a tie for the lead and a Saturday final group pairing for Wenchong Liang (winner of the 2007 Singapore Masters). The 34 year old golfer from Zhongshan, China managed just four fairways and ten greens during his second round and actually ranks pretty average for the long game categories at the half way stage. But he has Scrambled magnificently with 10/12 (included 4/4 in Sand Saves) and he leads the Genworth Putts per Round statistic with a superb 25.0 average.

Chapchai NIRAT -12
Chapchai Nirat has also started with consecutive rounds of 66 to tie for the lead with Wenchong Liang (and interestingly has also been victorious once so far on the European Tour at the 2007 TCL Classic). The 29 year old golfer from Thailand has produced similar statistics from the tee but has been more consistent with this approach play, ranking 4th for the Genworth Greens in Regulation statistic (with 31/36 greens hit). Chapchai also ranks second for Birdies per Round (14 birdies in total) and heads up the Par 3 Scoring with a 2.50 average.
