Miguel Angel Jiménez converted more birdies than any other player in the field on his way to a superb opening round of 64, to lead by one over a host of players. Looking at his Genworth Statistics, the 49 year old Spanish maestro hit 9/13 fairways (ranking 29th) and 12/18 greens (ranking 55th), but it was his performance with the short stick that really stands out, ranking 1st / 2nd / 3rd for the three Genworth Putting categories.
