European Tour players, including some returning from their Ryder Cup successes, competed in a knockout putting competition all with the sole aim of raising further funds for this year’s main, Putts4Charity beneficiary, SOS Children’s Villages.

Ross Fisher, Marcel Siem, José-Filipe Lima, Thomas Levet, Edoardo Molinari, Francesco Molinari, Miguel-Angel Jímenez and Robert Karlsson, representing the Tour Players’ Foundation, all took part in the challenge. Following some fine putting in the knock out stages it was Lima who on home turf, edged out Jímenez to be crowned the 2010 ‘Pro Putt Challenge Champion’.

“The Pro Putt Challenge was a great way to end a season of fundraising” said Martin Ring from Genworth Financial. Seeing some of the world’s greatest golfing talents competing against each other, all in the name of charity, was fantastic. It was a great combination of fund raising fun with a true, competitive edge.”

“The players, have, once again given us their whole hearted support to this initiative during 2010 which is literally transforming the lives of children around Europe through SOS Children’s Villages and giving them a better start in life.”
