Friday's play cancelled in Denmark

Play in the second round of the ECCO Tour Championship presented by Thomas Björn and Mercedes Benz at Lübker Golf Resort was cancelled due to heavy rain on Friday, resulting in the tournament being cut to 54 holes.

After a 3 hour 20 minute lightning delay to the first round on Wednesday, the second round, suspended at 20.15hrs on Thursday due to darkness, was unable to resume on Friday due to a waterlogged course.

Play is due to restart on Saturday, with the 16 groups who have yet to complete their second rounds due to resume play at 7:30am.

Round three will be a two-tee start in three-balls and will not begin before 10:30am.

Italian Alessandro Tadini is the clubhouse leader on six under par after adding a level par 72 just before the suspension of play on Thursday to his opening round 66.

He is one shot clear of Englishman Daniel Denison and Dane Lasse Jensen, who signed for second rounds of 66 and 70 respectively on Thursday, while the player Tadini shared the first round lead with, Belgian Pierre Relecom, is one of those still to complete his second round, having negotiated the first 11 holes in level par to also remain six under par.

Coincidentally, the last time a European Challenge Tour event was cut to 54 holes was in 2009 at this very tournament in Holsterbro Golf Club, Denmark, whereJosé-Filipe Lima pipped Edoardo Molinari to the title.
