Foster keeps lead despite Goya surge

Argentina's Tano Goya quickly joined England's Mark Foster out in front when the Johnnie Walker Championship resumed at Gleneagles - but only briefly.

While others were still completing first rounds delayed by thick fog yesterday, Goya birdied the second hole of his second round to reach six under par.

As heavy rain arrived, however, he followed with a double-bogey six on the 431 yard third.

That left Foster, among the day's later starters, one in front of Spaniard Ignacio Garrido and Swede Magnus Carlsson, among those who was back out on the course at 7.30am to make up for lost time on the opening day.

Colin Montgomerie was another and resumed with a birdie two on the short 17th before parring the 533 yard last for a two under 70 - four better than his playing partner and successor as Ryder Cup captain Jose Maria Olazabal.
