Focus falls on European Tour Destinations

European Tour Destinations are under the golfing spotlight this week with Golf and Country Club Fleesensee in Germany and Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort hosting Tour competition just days after The Dutch celebrated the double successes of two of its members.

Golf and Country ClubFleesenseewelcomed 101 players from 21 nations this week for the second week of European Tour Qualifying School with every one of them striving for a place in the top 24 to secure safe passage to the Second Stage and move a step closer to the goal of the Final Stage at another European Tour Destination,PGA Catalunya Resortin Spain.

As the four day qualifying event ends in Germany on Friday,Terre Blanchein France steps up to the plate in welcoming the Senior Tour for the French Riviera Masters for a second consecutive year with England’s DJ Russell defending the title against a world-class field including former Ryder Cup captains Mark James, Sam Torrance and Ian Woosnam along with the man pushing to top the Senior Tour Order of Merit, 2012 Rookie of the Year Paul Wesselingh, the only multiple winner of the season to date. Players representing 17 nationalities will be among the 70-man field.

And the celebrations will not have abated yet in Holland following the victories last weekend of Joost Luiten on home soil in the KLM Open and Daan Huizing further afield in the Kharkov Superior Cup on the Challenge Tour’s trip to Russia. Their victories, the first time two Dutch players have won on the same weekend, will be lauded throughout The Netherlands and certainly atThe Dutchwhere both players enjoy membership and can be assured of a heroes’ welcome in the near future.
