Paul Broadhurst

Since turning 50 in 2015, Broadhurst has quickly established himself as a dominant force on the European Senior Tour. The Englishman won his debut event, the Scottish Senior Open, in 2015 and secured the Rookie of the Year award that season.

Last year he had a remarkable first full season on the over-50s circuit, winning the Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex in fine fashion on Carnoustie's Championship links and finished runner-up in three of his other eight appearances on the Senior Tour.

The 51 year old secured the John Jacobs Trophy for finishing first on the Senior Tour Order of Merit, accruing earnings of just shy of €400,000 – he begins his defence of the coveted trophy in the United Arab Emirates this week.

Magnus P Atlevi

Magnus P Atlevi caught the attention of many after his strong start to the 2016 Senior Tour season. Prior to the Senior Open Championship, where he finished tied third on eight under par, the Swede had scored par or better in each of his rounds before teeing it up at Carnoustie, recording two top ten finishes.

He was forced to withdraw from the Travis Perkins Masters with a back injury, yet the following week he went on to record his first Senior Tour victory at the inaugural Paris Legends Championship at Le Golf National, host venue for The 2018 Ryder Cup.

The winner’s share of €52,500 saw Atlevi rise up the Order of Merit, and his third place finish at the Senior Italian Open presented by Villaverde Resort cemented his runner-up spot on the year-long Rankings.

Barry Lane

The Englishman heads to the United Arab Emirates as the most recent winner on the European Senior Tour, following his victory at the 2016 season-ending MCB Tour Championship.

Lane found form in the latter part of last season, finishing outside the top 20 just once in the last five events. His tied sixth finish at the Senior Italian Open set the platform for victory in Mauritius as he held off a late challenge from fellow former Ryder Cup player Broadhurst.

James Kingston at the BMW SA Open

James Kingston

After a steady start to the 2016 Senior Tour season, South Africa’s James Kingston really found form in the latter half of the schedule. Playing in his first season on the Senior Tour, Kingston rallied in the final six events, finishing no lower than tied 14th.

He recorded top five finishes in three of his last five events, with his best performance of the year coming at the Willow Senior Golf Classic – tied for third.

The 51 year old is no stranger to success, having won two European Tour titles, and will be gunning for his maiden Senior Tour title when the season kicks off in Sharjah.

Kingston has made three European Tour appearances in his home country since January, and finished tied 26th at the BMW SA Open hosted by City of Ekurhuleni. The South African may well benefit from these performances come the first event of the Senior Tour season.

Peter Fowler

Peter Fowler

One of the most consistent performers on the European Senior Tour, Peter Fowler, winner of the John Jacobs Trophy in 2011, will hope for further success in 2017.

Since 2011, Fowler has won five times, been a runner-up on eight occasions and third a further five times. He has also secured a further 27 top ten finishes.

His stroke average of 70.46 last year was slightly better than the season in which he won the John Jacobs Trophy (70.53), and he finished inside the top ten on six occasions.

Fowler will be searching for his first win since the 2015 ISPS Handa PGA Seniors Championship when he tees it up in Sharjah.
