Five Best Views From Chambers Bay

Chambers Bay Golf Course has been described by some as the "most spectacular venue in sports". It's certainly a breathtaking setting, sitting southwest of Seattle along the Puget Sound. Thousands of fans will march up and down the stunning sand dunes around the course to get a view of the best golfers in the world. We took that walk in the practice rounds and put together our five best views from the course.

1st Fairway

Interactive 360-degree view

The first fairway and last fairway run parallel to each other at Chambers Bay and that makes for a great gallery position. This stand position to the right side of the approach to the first hole looks south and gives fans the chance to see the second shot and green on the first hole whilst watching every shot hit down the 18th hole. A pretty good two-for-one deal if you ask us.

The 9th Tee

The ninth hole will be one of the most talked about holes this week and much of that attention is down to this view. This shot is taken from the higher of the two tee options, where the players face a 224 yard approach which takes them 100 feet down to a heavily undulated green. Whilst fans can't surround the tee, they can stand behind and alongside this tee shot and take in a breathtaking view of the course.

The 14th Tee

If you walk along the perimeter of the golf course from the ninth hole, you'll soon arrive at the 14th tee. The start of the longest par four in US Open history. Here you can stand just feet from the players are they smash driver down the hill at this daunting hole. In the meantime, you can just about see every hole on the course from this spot.

The 16th Green

Interactive 360-degree view

The 16th hole nestles at the bottom of the course bordering the railway line and Puget Sound. The L-shaped gallery that surrounds the green are offered one of the best views of any hole at Chambers Bay as they look across the water to Fox Island.

The 18th Green

Interactive 360-degree view

The gallery on the 18th hole is one of the largest grandstands in Major championship history. Bending around the back and right hand side of the closing hole, the stands will create a special scene on Sunday night. Seats are first-come-first-served and fans that are lucky enough to pinch a seat here will be treated to a wonderful finishing test as the players play the 18th hole as either a 604-yard par five or a 525-yard par four.
