Starting with this week’s Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open at Gullane, the Home of Golf will play host to some of the game’s most exciting events over the coming weeks, with The Open Championship, the Aberdeen Asset Management Ladies Scottish Open, the Saltire Energy Paul Lawrie Matchplay and the Ricoh Women’s British Open all taking place over the coming weeks.

Sturgeon and Gilbert addressed the reception and paid tribute to the well-established partnership between the Scottish Government, Aberdeen Asset Management and The European Tour which has, over the past four years, elevated the Scottish Open to one of the premier events in world golf.

Gilbert was also effusive in his praise of European Tour Chief Executive George O’Grady for his role in making the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open the first European Tour event to be screened live on American network television via the NBC network.
