Maximilian Kieffer got his 2012 off to the perfect start with victory in India at The Gujarat Kensville Challenge. He triumphed in a play off over home favourite Rahil Gangee, with a par at the first extra hole enough to pick up his first Challenge Tour victory and see him atop the Rankings heading into this, the second event of the season.

7 European Tour winners with 10 victories

Nick Dougherty returns to competitive action this week in Colombia looking to kick start his career and follow up his three career European Tour victories with similar success on The Challenge Tour this season.

Daniel Vancsik is also in the field looking to rediscover the form that saw him claim two European Tour titles, as well as three on The Challenge Tour.

Raymond Russell, Jose-Felipe Lima, Jeppe Huldahl, Cesar Monasterio and Carl Suneson are all also looking to finish in that elusive Challenge Tour top 20 to return to the European Tour and build on their one career win so far.

Phillip Archer returned to winning ways in 2011 on The Challenge Tour with a hard fought one shot victory at the ALLIANZ Open Cotes d'Armor - Bretagne. He is joined in the field this week by fellow victor from last season, Nicolas Meitinger, who won the first Challenge Tour event of his career at the ALLIANZ Challenge de France.
