Paul Chaplet, the current Latin American Amateur Champion, will become the first from his country to play the Masters – bringing the total number of nationalities to have been represented at Augusta to 39. 

Oldest player competing

Tom Watson, who at 66 years and 215 days is making his 43rd Masters appearance – ninth in the all-time list.

Youngest player competing

The aforementioned Chaplet is just 16 years old and will be the second youngest player to have appeared in the tournament.

The most-capped European Tour member

Sandy Lyle – making his 35th appearance this week having played every year since 1985.
