Fantasy Three to watch in Scotland

The Rolex Series heads to Scotland this week for the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club. Ahead of the third instalment of the Rolex Series, our stats guru has crunched the numbers and picked out three players you need on your Fantasy team this week.

Rory McIlroy

Favourite – Rory McIlroy

It comes as no surprise that Rory McIlroy is the favourite this week. The Northern Irishman is enjoying a consistent year, which has seen him win the Players Championship on the PGA Tour, finish in the top 10 at the US PGA Championship and the U.S. Open, finish runner-up at the WGC-Mexico Championship and finish in a tie for ninth at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play.

The four-time Major winner will also be looking to get his game trending towards Open Championship victory on home soil at Royal Portrush.

Form horse – Martin Kaymer

Martin Kaymer is also enjoying one of his most consistent seasons on the European Tour. The German’s form is trending in the right direction since missing the cut at the US PGA Championship. Since then, the two-time Major winner has finished T-35 at the U.S. Open, T-16 at the BMW International Open and T-9 at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open last week.

His form on links courses has also been impressive this season, finishing in a tie for eighth at the Betfred British Masters around Hillside Golf Club and coupled with last week’s results at Lahinch Golf Club, it is tough not to select the German.

Wildcard – Guido Migliozzi

Guido Migliozzi is enjoying a fine rookie season on the European Tour, picking up two wins in his maiden season at the Magical Kenya Open and the Belgian Knockout. The Italian’s impressive, high-teed stinger is sure to serve him well at The Renaissance Club and, although he has won twice this year, Migliozzi will be looking for a strong week in order to qualify for The Open Championship next week.
