Fantasy Five to watch in Mauritius

The European Tour heads to Mauritius this week for the first AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open. The fabulous Heritage Golf Course plays host to a 132-man field for the 20th event in The 2015 Race To Dubai. As for the Fantasy Race to Dubai, here are five players our stats guru suggests you add to your team for this week.

Kiradech Aphibarnrat

Thomas Aiken

Kiradech Aphibarnrat

Aphibarnrat may be the favourite coming into this week, and it's easy to see why. Since shooting 80 in the opening round of the Maybank Malaysian Open the Thai has found his form, playing 13 rounds, breaking par in ten and picking up his second European Tour win at the Shenzhen International. Despite his long, unique swing, it is Aphibarnrat's putting that has seen him contend recent events. Throughout the 2015 season, the 25 year old ranks ninth on Tour in Putts Per Green In Regulation.

George Coetzee

Player Profille

George Coetzee

Despite not progressing from the group stages last week at the WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship in California, George Coetzee did however win two of his three ties and only went out due to his head-to-head record with Jim Furyk, who went on to finish fourth in San Francisco. Before his match play jaunt, Coetzee had shown impressive form in recent times, having won the Tshwane Open and finished third at the Trophee Hassan II in his previous two starts on The European Tour. A solid ball-striker and a good putter, he ranks in the top ten in Putts per Round this season. Could he become the fifth multiple winner on The European Tour this season?

Scott Hend

Player Profille

Scott Hend

The big-hitting Aussie has a special affinity with The European Tour International Schedule. The further he travels the better he seems to play, as shown by his impressive win at last year's Hong Kong Open. Having ranked in the top two in Driving Distance on Tour in each of the last three seasons, Hend will hope to take advantage of the relatively short 7,036-yard course at Heritage Golf Club. He has shown good form of late, making five of his last six cuts on The European Tour including top 15 finishes at the True Thailand Classic and Shenzhen International.

Thomas Aiken

Player Profille

You can expect Thomas Aiken to be in the mix on Sunday. Known as one of the most consistent players on Tour, Aiken is one of only two players inside the top ten in Driving Accuracy and Greens In Regulation this season, a feat he also achieved last season. Aiken has three top tens in eight starts this season and will be hoping to notch a European Tour win in a third consecutive season for the first time in his career.

Tjaart van der Walt

Player Profille

Tjaart Van Der Walt

Van der Walt may be 40 years old but he is enjoying an impressive return to form recently. In five starts on The European Tour this season, the South African has shot 63 whilst also notching two top tens and a third place finish in his last event at the Tshwane Open. He hasn’t teed it up since finished 8th at the Sunshine Tour’s Investec Cup in March, so will be rested and keen to add a European Tour title to his résumé.
