Europeans go for the shorts look

With sweltering conditions greeting the players at Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, most of the European contingent took the chance to swap their customary trousers for a pair of Team Europe shorts, as Andy Sullivan models below.

The players will have the chance to show off their legs in the Tuesday and Wednesday practice rounds, with some of them perhaps in need of topping up their tans.

Golfers in shorts might be an unfamiliar look to many, but with temperatures rising to 39 Celsius (102 Fahrenheit) on Tuesday, it provided the likes of Matt Fitzpatrick, Danny Willett and Sullivan with some welcome relief from the oppressive heat.

When the issue was raised in the European team’s afternoon press conference, the ever-confident Bernd Wiesberger looked happy enough posing for a picture.

However, one man in Team Europe chose more traditional attire. Søren Kjeldsen is known for being a cool customer and the Dane stuck with trousers.

The players will be back in their regular gear for Thursday’s Pro-Am, where they will get the chance to meet the Queen of Malaysia, Tuanku Hajah Haminah, before things get serious on Friday when the battle for the 2016 EURASIA CUP presented by DRB-HICOM gets under way.
