European Senior Tour 2011 In Numbers

As the European Senior Tour season resumes, we look at the campaign ahead in numbers....

20 –The European Senior Tour celebrated its 20th season in 2011, having began in 1992.

24 –
With one more victory, Carl Mason will reach 24 to become the Senior Tour’s most prolific winner.

3 –
The number of countries visited for the first time in the 2011 season. They are: Australia, China and Japan.

25 –
The Senior Open Championship is being staged for the 25th time at Walton Heath this July.

9 –
The number of possible European Senior Tour players competing at the Senior Open Championship, 30 years after competing in The Ryder Cup at Walton Heath in 1981. They are: José Maria Cañizares, Eamonn Darcy, Sir Nick Faldo, Mark James, Bernhard Langer, Sandy Lyle, Manuel Piñero,  Des Smyth and Sam Torrance.

11 –There will be 11 former European Tour winners turning 50 in 2011. They are: Mats Lanner, Andrew Sherborne, Anders Forsbrand, Mark Mouland, Richard Boxall, Paul Curry, Ross McFarlane, David Whelan, Wayne Westner, Malcolm Mackenzie and Robert Lee.

9 –A win in 2011 for Carl Mason would continue his streak of winning every year since joining the Senior Tour in 2003.

14– Delroy Cambridge is set to become the 14th player to pass €1 million in European Senior Tour Official Career Earnings.

23 –The number of countries that have exempt players for the 2011 season.

15 –
The number of consecutive years Bad Ragaz has hosted the Bad Ragaz PGA Seniors Open.
