Europe make stunning start on Sunday

Europe look firmly on course to defend their EurAsia Cup presented by DRB-HICOM title after making a blistering start to Sunday's Singles matches.

Thomas Bjørn's visitors started the day a single point behind Asia but were in command two hours after play began, leading in seven matches and trailing in just two.

Swede Alex Noren was three up against Nicholas Fung in the lead match as they reached the turn, while Paul Casey was one up against Poom Saksansin in match two after chipping in on the eighth hole.

Rafa Cabrera Bello and Thomas Pieters were four up against Gavin Green and Byeong Hun An respectively, while Bernd Wiesberger was three up on 18 year old Phachara Khongwatmai.

Frenchman Alex Levy led Kiradech Aphibarnrat by two holes and Ryder Cup star Henrik Stenson was one up against Hideto Tanihara after eight holes.

Race to Dubai champion Tommy Fleetwood was one down against and S.S.P Chawrasia in match three, while Ross Fisher trailed Yuta Ikeda by the same margin.

Europe had been ahead in nine matches when Matthew Fitzpatrick and Paul Dunne led against Sunghoon Kang and Li Haotong respectively but their opponents fought back to level things up.
