The European Challenge Tour heads to Austria for this week’s Euram Bank Open. Here are three men to keep an eye on.
Form horse
Nicolai Kristensen has been in impressive form on the Road to Mallorca and currently sits in tenth position on the Rankings. The Dane secured his maiden Challenge Tour title at the D+D REAL Czech Challenge earlier this month to add to his fourth place finish at the Dimension Data Pro-Am during the South African Swing at the start of the year. The 30-year-old will be looking for another strong performance in Austria this week as he looks to follow in the footsteps of close friend and countryman Marcus Helligkilde, who topped the 2021 Road to Mallorca Rankings.
Local boy
Niklas Regner will be hoping to use home comforts to his advantage this week. The Austrian recorded a tie for eighth place finish at the Kaskáda Golf Challenge last month but has struggled for consistency so far on the Road to Mallorca. The 23-year-old is looking to secure a maiden Challenge Tour title on home soil this week and subsequently catapult up the Road to Mallorca Rankings.
The Outsider
Stuart Manley is looking to defend his Euram Bank Open title this week. The 43-year-old secured his third Challenge Tour title at the Euram Bank Open last year after carding rounds of 67-65-65-65 to reach 18 under par and he will now be looking to use that experience for more success at Golf Club Adamstal Franz Wittmann. The Welshman has struggled on the 2022 Road to Mallorca, however he has seen an upturn in form in recent weeks with two top-20 finishes in his last three appearances.
