ETW to broadcast special Chief Executives feature

European Tour Weekly will tonight broadcast a special feature featuring three great men of European golf, with The European Tour’s founding father John Jacobs through Ken Schofield to the current Chief Executive George O’Grady, looking at the grand old man’s influence in forging a truly global game.

European Tour Chief Executives past and present are filmed for ETW recently

In an exclusive three-way interview with the former and current executive directors of The European Tour to be shown at 0130 on Sky Sports 4 in the UK (and to be subsequently published on europeantour.com), European Tour Weekly hears first-hand about the story of struggle in the Tour’s formative years and Jacobs’ profound influence on the European game, since when Schofield and O’Grady have taken command and continued a quite remarkable expansion.

ETW journeyed down to the picturesque New Forest in the south of England to Jacob’s home to hear his early memories of launching The European Tour over 40 years ago, his continental vision and pivotally, the crucial recruitment of Schofield and O’Grady.

We learn how the latter European leaders learnt from and respected Jacobs , where the Tour progressed after he stepped aside, and how the Yorkshireman remains an integral part everything the Tour represents today.

Jacobs, a true golfing personality and visionary across all facets of the game, is also known as one of the greatest teachers that golf has ever seen and some of that world-class ability is seen on show once more, at 88 years young, as he also puts former Ryder Cup player Michael King through his paces.

Don’t miss a stunning insight into the three great minds that have shaped The European Tour.
