Entries open for Shenzhen International qualifier

Registration is now open for the Shenzhen International Open Qualifying tournament, which will take place at Genzon Golf Club, in the Longgang District of Shenzhen, from March 17–18, 2015.

The top three players in the qualifier will automatically gain a place in the field for the US$2.5 million Shenzhen International, with an additional three places available for the next three highest-placed Chinese players.

The inaugural Shenzhen International, which is co-sanctioned by The European Tour and the China Golf Association (CGA), will be held at Genzon GC from April 16-19.

Participation in the 132-man qualifier is open to all players who meet the following criteria:

a)      Professional golfers, qualified through the CGA (60 players);

b)      Professional golfers, qualified through other recognised golf associations (40 players);

c)       Amateur golfers who have a USGA Men’s Handicap Index of 3.0 or less, issued by any recognised golf association, recognized provincial or city golf association or recognized golf club (32 players).

The format of the qualifying event, which will carry a prize fund of RMB 100,000 (approximately US $16,000), is 36 holes of gross stroke play. The field will be cut after the first round, with only those players within 15 strokes of third place eligible to compete in round two.

Dates:

•         Monday March 16: Practice day
•         Tuesday March 17: Round one
•         Wednesday March 18: Final round

Entries will close 12 days prior to the tournament (March 4).
