Andrea Pavan’s lead was slashed to three shots in the third round of the Kärnten Golf Open presented by Mazda as he played seven holes in one over par.
The Italian yesterday reached 17 under par after stunning rounds of 63 and 64 to lead by a whopping seven shots, but the birdies were not coming so freely in the third round and a number of others were launching attacks in the benign conditions.
Edoard Dubois, of France, and Swede Bjorn Åkesson were in hot pursuit, the former six under through nine holes and the latter four under through eight to both reach 13 under.
Portugal’s Ricardo Santos was also in impressive form, five under through nine holes to reach 11 under overall, a score shared with Englishman Chris Paisley, who was one under for the day after seven holes.
