Dubuisson keen to remain on track at Cadillac Championship

Victor Dubuisson hopes to continue the remarkable start to his World Golf Championships career, but has warned that the Cadillac Championship will present a very different challenge to the Accenture World Match Play.

The Frenchman continued his remarkable recent rise by finishing second to Jason Day at Dove Mountain a fortnight ago on his WGC debut, earning plaudits and comparisons to Seve Ballesteros in the process.

But the Turkish Airlines Open winner says the Blue Monster course at Doral will be testing under strokeplay conditions.

“It was a match play tournament, so very different,” said Dubuisson. “Some days I played well. Some days, I didn't play so well, but it's match play, and well, I was disappointed to lose the final, in the final match.

“This week, it's very different. It's stroke play, very different to two weeks ago. I'm really confident about this week - even if I don't know what the course look like now, because I played many years ago, so I will play this afternoon to see what the change on the course.

“I'm not really more nervous. I just try to do my best on every shot on the course, and I try to don't really think about the event I'm playing. For example at the Match Play, on Sunday morning, I was on the range and I realized I was going to play in a few minutes against Ernie Els in the semifinal of a WGC tournament. I always dreamed to play, and I had a very poor start. I will try not to make this mistake again.”

Dubuisson’s incredible form over the last six months have him well placed to make Europe’s Ryder Cup Team this year,  and the 23 year old was joined at his press tournament press conference by the last Frenchman to feature in the biennial contest, Thomas Levet.

"I have great support from my friend, Thomas, who is in the room, because he won The Ryder Cup before," he said. "I hope we will have a chance to talk about that this week.”
