The Double Tree by Hilton Acaya Open is one of four tournaments in Italy on the European Challenge Tour 2011 schedule. The others are the Mugello Tuscany Open, which was played near Florence in May this year and won by Anthony Snobeck, the Roma Golf Open in October and the season-ending Apulia San Domenico Grand Final in November.
There are also two Italian events on The 2011 European Tour International Schedule - the Sicilian Open and the BMW Italian Open.
