The 32 year old Ryder Cup player drilled a fairway wood 252 yards to 12 feet and converted the putt for an eagle three at the 16th hole on the final day at Royal Sociedad Hipica Española Club de Campo. That brilliant shot helped Donald to capture his first European Tour title in six years, finishing one shot ahead of Welshman Rhys Davies.

Second place went to another Englishman in Simon Khan, whose 20 foot birdie putt on the final green at Wentworth Club brought him the biggest success of his career in the BMW PGA Championship. Third went to Spain’sAlejandro Cañizares for a fine approach to the par four seventh in the final round of the Iberdrola Open Cala Millor Mallorca.

The Shot of the Month is awarded to the Tour Member for the shot judged to be the best played each month on The European Tour International Schedule.
