Donald moves into contention

Rory McIlroy and Luke Donald were putting on a real show for the fans who had arrived early enough to follow them during the second round of the BMW PGA Championship.

The 21 year old Northern Irishman made three birdies in a row from the third to get back to level par for the week.

And when Ryder Cup star Donald matched the second and third of those he joined Australian left-hander Richard Green in second place.

Scandanavian duo Fredrik Andersson Hed and Søren Kjeldsen also impressed early at Wentworth Club.

Both were one under for their first six holes, moving into the group of six players tied for fourth on four under.

Yorkshireman Danny Willett, overnight leader on six under and a team-mate of McIlroy at the 2007 Walker Cup, was among the later starters, as was Green.

But Ryder Cup Captain and three-time winner Colin Montgomerie was already back on the course and three pars kept the Scot at two over.
