Dolphin Energy, which is Presenting Sponsor of the annual golf event, and the Tour Players Foundation (TPF) ran a special donation program which saw both parties contribute funds based on the scores returned by the golfers.

For every birdie, eagle and albatross scored Dolphin Energy contributed QAR50, QAR500 and QAR5,000 respectively, with the TPF adding QAR20, QAR200 and QAR2,000 donations per birdie, eagle and albatross.

Despite the fact that the tournament was reduced to three days because of windy conditions, a total of 1,039 birdies and 23 eagles were registered. This totaled QAR88,830. The senior management team from Dolphin Energy and the TPF then pledged to top up the amount raised to a final total of QAR120,000.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Adel Ahmed Albuainain, General Manager, Dolphin Energy Qatar, commented: “To register this amount is a wonderful achievement and I would like to thank every player for his contribution. We were proud to have worked with the Tour Players Foundation to support a worthy cause and hope to collaborate again in the future,”

Dr. Eddie Denning, Adviser to the Board of Directors at the Center said: “We are very grateful for the support that Dolphin Energy, the Tour Players Foundation and the golfers have provided.

“On behalf of the Board and the children I would like to extend my gratitude and thanks to the company and the players.”
