Challenge Tour front-runner Robert Dinwiddie is seeking to strengthen his claim for a place on The European Tour by holding onto the lead at the Saint-Omer Open presented by Neuflize OBC.
Dinwiddie, who won this year's Kenya Open, hit a superb six under par 65 yesterday to move to the top of the leaderboard at the halfway stage, one ahead of Austria's Martin Wiegele on five under par.
However, Wiegele has other ideas as the joint first round leader admitted after shooting a level par 71 yesterday.
Assessing his chances of victory, he said: "It depends on the weather conditions really. The wind's not going to stop blowing, and the greens won't get any easier.
"So I shouldn't think I'll be too far behind come the end of the day. But that's out of my hands - whatever happens, I'm looking forward to the weekend."
One shot further back at Aa Saint Omer Golf Club were England's Jamie Elson and Matt Haines plus Dane Mark F Haastrup.
Of the chasing pack, Sweden's Joakim Backstrom was leading the charge at two under par today and a share of three under overall.
Backstrom bogeyed the second but birdied the fifth, sixth and seventh.
