DID YOU KNOW – VOLVO CHINA OPEN

• Y E Yang became the second player from Korea to win the Volvo China Open in 2010, following Charlie Wi in 2001.

• Damien McGrane’s nine shot winning margin in 2008 was the biggest on The European Tour since Ernie Els won by 13 at the 2005 BMW Asian Open.

• In the 16 previous stagings of the Volvo China Open dating back to 1995, there have been 16 different winners, from 11 different countries. England have the most wins with three – Ed Fryatt (1998), Simon Dyson (2000) and Paul Casey (Nov 2005 – part of the 2006 European Tour season). The host nation have produced two winners – Chen Jun (1997) and Zhang Lian-wei (2003).

• Volvo have sponsored the Volvo China Open since the event began in 1995. This will be the 71st European Tour event that Volvo have put their name to. Their first event was the Volvo Belgian Open in 1987.
