DID YOU KNOW – US PGA CHAMPIONSHIP

•  Should Martin Kaymer win the US PGA Championship for a second time, having won the title in 2010, he would become the first player from continental Europe to successfully defend a Major Championship.

• Should a European Tour Member win at Atlanta Athletic Club, it would be the first time European Tour Members have won all four Major Championships in a single season.

• When David Toms won the 2001 US PGA Championship here at Atlanta Athletic Club, he created Major Championship history for the lowest winning 72 hole total of 265.

• David Toms in 2001 became the last player to win a Major Championship and record a hole-in-one during the tournament. He aced the par three 15th in round three.

• Mark O’Meara shot a course record of 63 (-7) in round two of the 2001 Championship. At that time he became the eighth player to shoot 63 in the history of the US PGA Championship.

• The are 49 European Tour Members who have been invited to play. Thomas Aiken, Jamie Donaldson, Matteo Manassero and Alexander Noren are the four European Tour Members making their debut in the event.

• Atlanta Athletic Club will be hosting it’s third US PGA Championship, following 1981 and 2001. The Georgia venue becomes just the fifth club to stage three or more US PGA Championships, behind Southern Hills Country Club, Oakland Hills Country Club, Oakmont Country Club and Firestone Country Club (South Course).
