Whistling Straits

•  A total of 59 European Tour Members will be playing in the US PGA Championship. Ten of the 59 will be making their debut in the final Major of the season. They are: Fredrik Andersson Hed, Grégory Bourdy, Rhys Davies, David Horsey, Martin Laird, Shane Lowry, Ross McGowan, Edoardo Molinari, Noh Seung-yul and Danny Willett.

• The current course record of 65 (-7) at Whistling Straits is held by two European Tour Members; Darren Clarke and Miguel Angel Jiménez, both recorded in the 2004 US PGA Championship.

• Y E Yang in 2009 became the first Asian to win a Major Championship. He will attempt to make a successful defence of his title and join Tiger Woods (1999-2000 and 2006-07) as the only two players to win back-to-back US PGA Championships since the event changed its format to stroke play in 1958.

• Should a European Tour Member win the US PGA Championship, it will be the third consecutive year this would have been achieved following Padraig Harington (2008) and Yang (2009). The last time   European Tour Members won the same Major three years in succession was the Masters Tournament; 1989 and 1990 by Sir Nick Faldo and 1991 Ian Woosnam.
