Diageo round of the day: Jack Singh Brar

Jack Singh Brar’s bogey-free 67 was chosen as the third winner of the Diageo round of the day – an accolade which is being awarded at the end of each day of this year’s SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.

The 21 year old moved 14 places up the leaderboard on the third day at Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Club as he bagged four birdies and dropped no shots.

A panel of experts unanimously selected the Englishman’s strong showing – the only blemish-free score of the day in Aviemore – as the best performance on the third day of the competition in the Scottish Highlands.

Jock MacVicar, on behalf of the panel, said: “Jack’s sturdy, bogey-free score is a worthy winner of the Diageo round of the day. He was under pressure at the start of the day to make a move up the leaderboard with a low score, but after his performance today he now has a good chance of making a title charge tomorrow.”

As a reward for his great score Singh Brar receives a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky – which will be awarded to each winner of the Diageo round of the day this week.
