David Law was crowned the fourth winner of the Diageo round of the day after he shot a superb four under par closing round of 67 to win his maiden European Challenge Tour title at the SSE Scottish Hydro Challenge hosted by Macdonald Hotels and Resorts.
The 27 year old bagged five birdies and one bogey on the final day at Macdonald Spey Valley Golf Club to finish two shots clear of the rest of the field.
A panel of experts unanimously selected Law’s excellent round as the best performance on the final day of the competition in the Scottish Highlands.
Steve Scott, on behalf of the panel, said: “To win in your 100thevent is good enough in itself but to do it by pulling away from a quality field is even better. David’s plan this week was to target the par fives, and he did that today, and along with another couple of birdies he secured a famous victory which will live long in the memory.”
As a reward for his tournament-winning round Law receives a bottle of Johnnie Walker Black Label whisky – his second of the week after he won the first accolade on the first day for another 66.
A very easy decision
