Del Moral makes significant move

Carlos del Moral fired an impressive 65 to put himself into contention on day three of the BMW International Open.

A bogey on the last was the only blemish on the Spaniard's card as he moved to within one shot of leader and countryman Rafael Cabrera-Bello, who was on 12 under.

Del Moral birdied the second, sixth and seventh to turn in 33 and further birdies on the tenth, 11th, 13th, 15th and 16th catapulted him into the lead.

A bogey on the par five last saw him drop back alongside England's James Morrison in second but the 29 year old was pleased with his morning's work.

"It was really nice," he said. "I started off very solid off the tee and that helped me hitting long drives and obviously the course was a lot easier from that."

Swede Peter Hanson was making a charge up the leaderboard and three birdies in his first five holes saw him move into the group at ten under with Chris Paisley, Michael Hoey, Lasse Jensen and Henrik Stenson, who were all out on the course.

Stenson birdied the first but really came to life around the turn, picking up further shots at the sixth, eighth and tenth to move into a decent position going into the afternoon.

Englishmen Ross Fisher and Tyrrell Hatton were both in the clubhouse at nine under after rounds of 66 and 67 respectively while Victor Dubuisson was also in that group through 12.
