DeChambeau confirmed for Crans

American Bryson DeChambeau, the 2015 US Amateur Champion who has made an impressive start to his professional career, will compete in the Omega European Masters from September 1-4.

Last year, DeChambeau became only the fifth player in history to win the NCAA Championship and the US Amateur in the same year. In his final tournament in the amateur arena, he finished tied 21st behind Danny Willett in the Masters Tournament.

DeChambeau joined the professional ranks the following week and competed at the RBC Heritage on the US PGA Tour, finishing a highly creditable fourth place. He shone again in June at the US Open Championship, where he came joint 15th.

The self-confessed golfing scientist will be making his fourth start in a regular European Tour event, following his appearances in Abu Dhabi, Qatar and Dubai at the start of the season.

DeChambeau will be joined at the stunning Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club by defending champion Danny Willett and his compatriots Matt Fitzpatrick and Lee Westwood, whilst fans’ favourite Miguel Angel Jiménez has also confirmed his appearance in the Swiss mountains.
