Jason Day is looking to emulate one of his playing partners and replace the other when the World Golf Championships - Cadillac Championship gets under way on Thursday.
Day tees it up alongside Jordan Spieth and Rory McIlroy as the top three players in the Official World Golf Ranking go head-to-head at Trump National Doral.
Spieth currently holds the top spot ahead of Day, with whom he twice swapped the ranking at the end of last year, with McIlroy sitting in third.
Day's two spells at the top added up to four weeks in total and the Australian is determined not only to eventually reclaim the position but to stay there.
Spieth has spent 23 career weeks at number one with McIlroy spending 95 weeks at the summit, and Day wants to replicate the success of the Northern Irishman and his own countryman Greg Norman - who was number one for 331 weeks.

"Not to say I'm going to be there for that long but that's the main goal, to be one of those era players where you were dominant for a longer period of time than just four weeks. And not just say, 'oh, yeah, he was former number one in the world but he was only there for a month'.
"It would be nice to be going, 'oh, that guy is a former number one in the world and he was very dominant in that time period'. That's why I'm trying to improve.
"You look at Rory and you look at Tiger (Woods) and you look at the guys that were number one in the world, they were doing everything they possibly can to stay there and be there.
"I think for me right now, I'm very, very motivated to get back there. I'm very, very motivated to play well and win and win more consistently."
Day even revealed he spoke to Woods - a man who has spent a remarkable 683 weeks as the world's top player in his career so far - just last week about the pressures of being in the upper echelons of the game.
"I talked a little bit to Tiger last week on the phone with regards to all this stuff; practice and balancing and dominating for so many years," he said. "If you're going to pick a guy's brain, he's the guy."
Spieth arrives In Florida off the back of a missed cut at the Northern Trust Open and, while he knows all eyes will be on the marquee three-ball, the 22 year old does not believe that will have any effect on the players.
"When we get out there, we're playing our own game," he said. "I don't think any of us are buying into any added motivation or excitement based on a pairing. I don't think we would at any point.
"For me personally, I would say it's going to be a lot of fun, because I enjoy playing with both of them."
