Day 2 In Numbers: WGC Cadillac Match Play

There were another 32 matches on day two of the newly formatted WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship. The course continued to test the best players in the world and produce some interesting numbers. Here's our favourite facts and figures from Thurday's play.

Rory McIlroy

16- Lower ranked players won their matches on a wild and wonderful day at Harding Park Golf Club.

2- Players already qualified for the last 16: Rickie Fowler and John Senden.

18- Undefeated players after two rounds: McIlroy, Horschel, Matsuyama, Schwartzel, Casey, Spieth, Westwood, Willett, Hoffman, Senden, Mahan, Leishman, Simpson, Woodland, Watson, Oosthuizen, Fowler and Koepka.

22- Players already eliminated from last 16 including both players from last year’f final, Jason Day and Victor Dubuisson.

27- The numbers of holes Hunter Mahan has played, fewer than anyone else. The American defeated Ben Martin today 5 and 3 after beating Stephen Gallacher 7 and 6 on Wednesday.

0- The number of holes lost by Hunter Mahan so far this week. He is the only player yet to lose a hole.

40- Holes played by Paul Casey, the most of any player in the field.

7- Matches went to extra holes on day two. 14 matches made it to the 18th hole.

68- Miguel Angel Jimenez’s score today. Good, but not good enough. He lost 2 down to Louis Oosthuizen.

0- Wins for Keegan Bradley in his last seven singles matches in match play. The 2011 PGA Championship winner lost 4 and 2 to Bubba Watson today.

10- The number of putts Jordan Spieth needed over his last 10 holes today. The Masters champion holed 131 feet of putts in just 15 holes in his win over Matt Every.

13- Birdies for the World No. 2, the most after two days at Harding Park GC.

29- The number of shots Charl Schwartzel needed to play his last nine holes today. The 2011 Masters champion came back from 3 down on the 12th tee to win on the second extra hole.
