The first European Tour round of 2015 has past at The South African Open Championship Hosted by the City of Ekurhuleni, and as ever, there were plenty of good scores coming in. Check out the best numbers here...

66 – leads the way for Jbe Kruger and Andy Sullivan after round one in Ekurhuleni

6– birdies and no bogeys from South African Kruger on the opening day

– Kruger finished in a tie for second at last year’s event

17– greens in regulation found by Kruger in his consistent round

6– birdies, one eagle and one double bogey for England’s Sullivan

7– under in eight holes for Sullivan from the eighth to 15th holes

67– for five-time Champion Ernie Els on day one at Glendower GC

– birdies and just the one dropped shot for the home favourite

104 – under par for Els since the first co-sanctioned SA Open in 1997

4– under par to open with for Charl Schwartzel, who is looking to win his National Open for the first time this week

68 – for rookie Jordi Garcia Pinto, but it could have been so much better had the Spaniard not bogeyed his last three holes

2– pars for Garcia Pinto in his mixed bag of a back nine

– over par for defending champion Morten Ørum Madsen on the opening day

4– the par four fourth played the hardest, averaging 4.4

8– the par five eighth was the easiest, averaging 4.67
