The money was raised through a variety of initiatives including the Genworth Putts4Charity which saw revenue generated on and off the course during the week with the Pro Putt and Public One Putts challenges, the Pro-Am Hit the Green Competition and other Pro-Am activities at Oceanico Victoria Golf Course.

SOS Children's Villages is an international non-governmental social development organisation that has been active in the field of children's rights and committed to children's needs and concerns since 1949. In 132 countries and territories their activities focus on children without parental care and children of families in difficult circumstances.

The €64,558 raised will solely benefit SOS Children's Villages projects across Portugal.

Peter Adams, Championship Director of the Portugal Masters, said: “We would like to thank all those involved in supporting such a worthy cause as SOS Children's Villages. It is wonderful that the event can give something back to communities in Portugal, a country that has been such an integral part of The European Tour for so many years. Our thanks to all the players, pro-am participants and spectators who took part and a special thank you to Genworth for their commitment to the tournament and Putts4Charity.”
