Challenge Tour players attend media workshop

Many of the stars of the European Challenge Tour attended a media workshop and presentation ahead of the AEGEAN Airlines Challenge Tour by Hartl Resort, as part of the tour’s ongoing programme aiming to give the players on Europe’s top developmental tour a wider education.

European Tour Chief Press Officer Michael Gibbons and fellow Press Officer Neil Ahern were on hand to talk the players through a presentation focussed on how the Media Department at the tour works and how crucial communication and cooperation are to the smooth running of media duties and engagements.

Over 45 players attended on the Wednesday before the third AEGEAN Airlines Challenge Tour by Hartl Resort and listened intently at examples of good and bad practice with regard to dealing with the media as well as in relation to social media.

There were some contributions from players after the presentation on how players and the Media Department can work together to improve their own media exposure as well as the brand of the Challenge Tour.

After workshops on slow play, rulings and drugs policies earlier in the season, the Challenge Tour players who are hoping to graduate to The European Tour later this year are certainly receiving an education on more than just their own golf games this year.
