The Challenge Tour Grand Final returns to the island of Mallorca for the second time and we have picked out five things to keep an eye out for ahead of the action getting under way.
T-Golf & Country Club
The Challenge Tour Grand Final helps to showcase some of Mallorca’s best golf courses and this year is no different, with T-Golf & Country Club staging the tournament for the very first time. The venue has never hosted a Challenge Tour event before and is considered one of the finest courses in Mallorca and boasts world class practice facilities and first-rate amenities. Located just ten minutes from the capital city of Palma, T-Golf offers sensational views of Mallorca’s landscape.
Race to be Number One
The race to join the illustrious list of Challenge Tour Number Ones is etching towards its conclusion and Germany’s Marcel Schneider is currently the man to catch. The German finished second at the Austrian Open to jump to the top of the Rankings and he then cemented that standing with a tie for second place at the Italian Challenge Open Eneos Motor Oil, losing to countryman Hurly Long after extra holes. The 30-year-old enjoyed a successful two weeks in Spain before travelling to Mallorca, finishing tied 17th at the Andalucía Challenge de España before earning a tie for fifth at the Andalucía Challenge de Cádiz. Schneider currently has 95,088 Rankings points, with nearest challenger Pep Angles just behind on 90,163.
Emotions will run high
The Challenge Tour Grand Final does not pass without high octane drama, and this year will be no different. In 2018, Adri Arnaus secured a first Challenge Tour victory in Ras Al Khaimah and celebrated with raw emotion on the 18th green, while last year, Sebastian Garcia Rodriguez was faced with a nervous wait to see if he had finished the season in the top 15, and celebrated fittingly when his position was confirmed.

Two hole-in-one prizes on offer
There are two opportunities for players to win extra prizes this week, with two of the Grand Final’s sponsors offering prizes for hole-in-ones. Roig, who offer great rental car deals for visitors to Mallorca, will donate one week’s premium car rental for the first person to ace the par three sixth hole. Meliá Palma Marina, the Official Hotel of the Challenge Tour Grand Final, will give one million loyalty points for the first hole-in-one on the par three ninth hole.
