Bruce Heuchan, the former European Senior Tour player, has passed away following a long battle with leukemia.

The Canadian won the Senior Tour Qualifying School in 2003 and played five full seasons, appearing in 80 tournaments and recording 16 top ten finishes.

He twice finished third on the Senior Tour, first at the Irvine Whitlock Seniors Classic in 2005 and then at the DGM Barbados Open.

Having played on the Canadian Tour in the mid-70’s, he became an assistant pro at the Country Club in Kelowna, and caddied on the US PGA Tour before eventually fulfilling his dream of playing full time on the Senior Tour, where he was a consistent performer, finishing inside the top 30 on the Order of Merit in three consecutive seasons from 2005.

He returned to Kelowna in 2009 to support his ailing parents and to receive more regular medical care after being diagnosed with leukemia.  Bruce passed away on December 24 aged 61.
