Broadhurst and Langer awarded in America

Bernhard Langer has been named the PGA TOUR Champions Player of the Year for the fifth consecutive year, and Paul Broadhurst has been named Rookie of the Year after his two wins in 2016.

Two-time Masters Champion and former Ryder Cup Captain Langer recorded four victories in 2016, as well as four runner-up finishes. In 21 starts, he posted 18 top-tens and finished no lower than tied 13th during a dominant season.

He won the Charles Schwab Cup for the third year running, and was voted Player of the Year ahead of Woody Austin, Paul Goydos, Scott McCarron and Colin Montgomerie.

Broadhurst, winner of the 2016 John Jacobs Trophy, was voted PGA TOUR Champions Rookie of the Year ahead of Brandt Jobe and Glen Day after securing two victories in 2016. The first at the Senior Open Championship Presented by Rolex at Carnoustie, and his second at Pebble Beach Golf Links at the PURE Insurance Championship - joining Ben Hogan and Tom Watson as the only players in history to win professional titles at both venues.
