The 24 year old Challenge Tour graduate, who has recorded three top-ten finishes in his last six starts, hit his approach at the third to three feet to be one under after four holes.

That took him to 15 under at Club de Campo del Mediterráneo, maintaining his two shot advantage over 17 year old Matteo Manassero.

The Italian, looking to become the youngest winner in European Tour history, stayed in touch courtesy of his own birdie at the third when he holed from 12 feet.

The third member of the final group, Christian Nilsson, was one over for his first four holes and had been joined on 11 under by Austria's Martin Wiegele, Ireland's Peter Lawrie and Dutchman Joost Luiten.
