Gary Boyd took a surprise lead in the Czech Open after shooting a brilliant five under par front nine in his final round at the Prosper Golf Resort in Čeladná.
The Englishman, aiming to become the youngest winner of the event at 23 years and 322 days, started the day six shots adrift of overnight leader Peter Hanson on six under par.
However, birdies on the first, second, fourth, fifth and eighth have seen him move into the lead on 11 under par.
After starting the day on 12 under par, Hanson, who would enter the all-important top nine of Europe’s Ryder Cup rankings with victory, endured a torrid start to his final round.
The Swede bogeyed the the par four second, par three third and par four fourth as Boyd leapfrogged him into first place.
However, he showed great heart to birdie the fifth and move into the joint lead in the process, before Boyd birdied eight.
Ireland's Peter Lawrie has also been in scintillating form today, carding six under par after 12 holes to close the gap on the leader to just one shot.
Miguel Ángel Jiménez, who is eighth in the standings for a spot in Colin Montgomorie’s team is starting to look ominous on the course he co-designed.
The Spaniard responded from his bogey on the fourth in emphatic fashion, birdying six and seven to move to nine under par.
Meanwhile, Simon Dyson, who would also move into an automatic Ryder Cup spot with victory, has failed to put any pressure on the leaders despite parring his first eight holes.
