Asia held a slender advantage on day two of the EURASIA CUP presented by DRB-HICOM.
Europe went into the day with a 4½ - 1½ lead after Friday's fourball matches, but it was Asia who seized the initiative on Saturday.
Jeev Milkha Singh's Asia led in four of the six foursome matches early on Saturday, with only front-runners Ian Poulter and Danny Willett and fellow Englishmen Lee Westwood and Matt Fitzpatrick leading for the Europeans.
Some superb putting saw Kiradech Aphibarnrat and SSP Chawrasia hold a three-hole lead over Kristoffer Broberg and Chris Wood after seven holes, while K.T Kim and Jeung Hun Wang, Shingo Katayama and Prayad Marksaeng and Danny Chia and Nicholas Fung were all one up against their European opponents.
There were some positives for Europe, however, with Poulter and Willett four up at the turn in match one.
The European pair found themselves two up after two holes without making a single birdie, with Asia twice missing the chance to halve the hole.
The Englishmen extended their lead at the fifth after Willett sent his tee shot to within a foot of the hole, and the Sheffield native then sank his ten foot putt at the sixth to give his pair a four-hole lead.
Byeong-hun An and Thongchai Jaidee reduced the deficit to three at the next, but Willett and Poulter took the ninth to regain their four-hole lead.
Westwood and Fitzpatrick got off to a disappointing start in match six, losing the first hole to Anirban Lahiri and Wu Ashun after failing to make par.
But the European duo won the next two to lead by one after three holes.
