The 21 year old carded a 68 on the final day to finish with a 16 under par 272, one shot clear of Siddikur Rahman of Bangladesh.

“The putt on the last was very close but my hands were shaking,” said Aphibarnrat after winning the US$300,000 event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGTI. “I’m just happy I won. I’ve waited two years for this and I’m very proud of myself.”

Siddikur rued not being able to force a play-off after posting a final round 71, but was gracious in defeat, saying: “Overall I enjoyed my round and losing is part of the game. I’m getting better and my confidence level is still high. Kiradech played really well and deserved the win. It was his day.

“The last hole is quite an easy hole and I could have forced a play-off if I birdied that hole. I only made par and that cost me the title.”
